The AWS Practice Manager primary function is to drive the AWS cloud?based IT professional services delivery model ensuring success in building and migrating applications, software and services onto AWS. This role will require creative problem solving via technical and business solutions with public and private cloud expertise to drive product and service adoption. The manager must have experience in leading efforts around transformative and AWS Cloud Solutions while delivering the vision to build a business development strategy and plan to work with Sales and Service Delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strong understanding of the entire AWS Product and Service suite (such as as EC2, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Route53, CloudFront, Lambda.Redshift, EMR, SQS, SNS, AWS IoT, API Gateway etc.) products and their applicable use cases, best practices and implementation, and support considerations.
Partner with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS Cloud Solutions.
Collaborate with customers on migrating existing systems and building new systems using the full range of AWS services.
Present technical concepts in clear manner to customers through product demos, proposals and presentations.
Strong problem?solving abilities coupled with a desire to take on responsibility.
Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders at various business levels.
Resolve complex technical problems at a pre? or post?sales level, working with either sales or support personnel.
Attention to detail in documenting information and ability to show ownership of follow through in customer resolutions.
Hire, on?board, train and develop new Solutions Architects from internal and external sources.
Act as a Technical liaison between customers, service engineering and support teams.
Directly collaborate with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS Cloud Technologies.
Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS Cloud Solutions and Technologies.
Establish credibility and build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
Participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new and migrating existing applications, software and services onto AWS Cloud.
Conduct deep?dive “hands?on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering, or already using, AWS cloud.
Author or contribute to customer?facing publications such as whitepapers, tutorials, etc., and present sessions at AWS, customer and industry conferences.
Hands?on experience building, delivering and managing cloud IaaS environments using platforms such VMware, OpenStack, Azure, AWS, and GCE.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8? 10 years in progressively more responsible roles in either solutions architecture, support or IT
2-5 years’ experience working explicitly in or with cloud technologies
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Level minimum, ideally Professional Level
One or more relevant industry recognized certifications
General knowledge of areas of business operations beyond IT
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Public profile or proven record of public speaking at relevant tech events

Proven ability to stay abreast and continually expand knowledge in the areas of new technological developments and trends
